• A quick note:

This roster is as much a living document as the rest of the site. Updates will be frequent as new universes are discovered, new subworlds created, and new names given to those that already exist. The only things that will not be changed are world IDs and a world's Multiverse of Origin. We thank you for your understanding.

The Structure of the Omniverse (The Galaxy Model)

Think of a multiverse as like a galaxy. At its core is the primal realm (sometimes called the primal world or the origin world), which is surrounded by alternate universes (AUs for short). Alternate universe are created from drastic deviations in timelines within the primal realm, and, as such, they often are the manifestations of potential futures. All alternate universes are considered "unlocked"; they can be entered at will by anyone, no matter which multiverse the person or the world belongs to. However, many of the primal realms are considered "locked", meaning they can not be accessed. The only exceptions are Destiny and Alduran Prime, both of which are unlocked.
In order to tell which worlds belong to which multiverse, one must simply observe a world's magic system, its history, and its structure; with very few exceptions, all worlds in Destiny have the exact same magic types, follow a similar if not identical story up until the twenty-first century at the earliest, and all contain a maximum of five realms. Realms are essentially sub-universes (not to be confused with subworlds) inside a universe, though this definition can be stretched to include the Dream Realm and the like. They can be finite or infinite and vary in complexity, which determines whether or not they are considered a "major" or "minor" realm. Destiny's five realms are as follows: the Elemental Realm, its sole major realm, which is home to Elemental magic, the planet Earth and the solar system in which it resides, etc.; the Shadow Realm, a void-like, finite realm comprised of Dark magic energy, home to the Shadow Beasts, with a single kingdom at its centre; the Light Realm, a void-like, finite realm comprised of raw Light magic, home to the demigods, also with a single kingdom at its centre; and the Celestial and Hellfire Realms, both inaccessable to the living and the origins of the magic types that share their names. Additionally, primal realms are not truly realms, they are universes, despite the terminology.
Subworlds are independent, usually man-made universes, often with no realms, and nearly always finite. They float about like asteroids, unbound to a particular multiverse, even if one may stay in its multiverse of origin for its entire lifespan. Rarely are they stable enough to last for a long time, and any, especially older ones, and especially those that appear naturally, have their own natural law, and thus, they are often dangerous to try to enter. Creating a subworld requires consistantly powerful magic, something that is more than feasable for the Empire, but not so much for the average person. We oversee twenty subworlds as of writing, mainly for the sake of research, though there are some which we utilise for travel.
Deadworlds are unstable universes which have broken away from their multiverse in some way. Usually, like subworlds, they slowly disintegrate until they no longer exist, however it is possible for one to stabilise upon connecting with a multiverse again.
